Soar high with the Auto-Ordnance Winged Warriors Series “Black Sheep” GI 1911! This limited edition pistol, a collaboration between Outlaw Ordnance and Auto-Ordnance, honors the fearless fighter pilots of WWII’s Pacific theater. Their legacy lives on in the stunning Vought F4U Corsair artwork custom engraved on the pistol, a testament to their skill and bravery, and a tribute to the famous Ace that flew “Lucybelle” into harm’s way.

The rich blue color Cerakote used in this design is a custom mix, paired with Stormtrooper White, and USMC Red. The belly of the frame is polished and it is cleared with a matte Cerakote clear. The bold Blue, Red, and White scheme further emphasizes the spirit of American valor and victory. Aluminum grips are made in-house by Outlaw Ordnance. The overall design is engraved with textures simulating the Corsair’s metal and rivet patterns. Airplane roundels adorn the grips, and the Ace’s kill badges are depicted in bright red. Chambered in the timeless .45 ACP, this 1911 isn’t just a collector’s piece–it delivers the shooting performance expected from Auto-Ordnance.

    Lucybelle? Boyington’s Corsair was Lulubelle.

  2. Duke

Maybe I can get this for way cheaper since it was “LULUBELLE”?

  3. JM

Actually, it was Lucybelle, Boyington changed the name to Lulubelle for later phot ops because of a dispute with
    his former LUCY Malcolmson.

  4. Benjamin Stafford

JM is absolutely “RIGHT!”. Playboy Boyington got caught! The problem with being a playboy, make sure there are no cameras around. Cameras don’t lie. Pretty cool looking gun. It will make for a good conversation. I’ll tell my wife that the name was changed to protect the innocent.

  5. John Howard

This is one of the only known photos of him in the actual plane. The “Y” in Lucybelle is very clearly visible:

A good article that also mentions it:

We did our research and made it historically correct. Our next one in the series will also be very interesting and nicely detailed!

Have y’all considered making a 1911 to celebrate the Red tails of the Tuskegee Airmen?
